Short bio

Fungai Tichawangana is a journalist, writer and web developer based in Western MA. He is the founder and Chief Innovation Artist at Artist Dynamix, a digital media agency that offers services to help professional artists, content creators, and organizations in the arts and culture space optimize their online presence, connect with audiences, and achieve their stated goals.

Artist Dynamix also volunteers some of its resources and time to support selected creative initiatives and shares resources and tools to help artists and creatives thrive.

In 2015, Fungai was awarded a Nieman Journalism Fellowship and a Berkman Klein Fellowship for Journalism Innovation at Harvard University for his work documenting Zimbabwean artists and building websites to share their stories with hundreds of thousands of people.

His projects focus on using the Internet as a space to amplify arts and culture, to connect people  through the work of creatives and to build ecosystems that are designed to help foster and celebrate creative endeavor. Examples include Zimbo Jam which has won the National Arts Merit Award four times and Valley of Writers which shares the best resources and opportunities on the Internet with writers around the world.

As a writer he has contributed poetry to a number of journals and in 2018, his play, ‘Fields of Glittering Things,’ was shortlisted in the BBC’s International Radio Playwriting Competition.
