Committees & Causes
When I was growing up, my father took part in a number of committees. He joined the parents teachers association at my primary school and went on to do the same when I went to high school. By that point PTAs in Zimbabwe were known as School Development Associations.
I learned from him the value of giving back to your community and I too have committed to doing my bit in the communities I live in.
Photos for Free
On my photography website, FungaiFoto, I talk about how when I first started web development in 1997, you could not find high-quality royalty-free images. Early mover stock photo companies like Corbis and Getty Images were only just getting their footing and their images were super expensive.
Now, through sites like Pexels, Unsplash, and Pixabay, creators around the world have access to tens of thousands of amazing high-quality images and videos – for free. I use free images from these sites a lot in my work and in 2019, I decided that I would love to add to this pool of images and am a contributor to Unsplash and Pixabay.
I also contribute to Google Maps where my pictures have been viewed close to 5 million times.
