Ipikai is live

The Ipikai Poetry Journal went live today. Yay! It’s been a year of discussions with lots of people starting with a conversation Batsi and I had in February 2021. Now the Zimbabwe Poets Society is coming together. This is the first project.

We sent the message out to some journals and newspapers. Fingers crossed they pick it up and spread the word.

I am grateful for Batsi, Tariro, Tinashe, and all the other people who have seen why this is so important and why we need to do it.

There’s lots of work to be done, lots of people to talk to, but what do we have if we don’t have community? We owe this to ourselves as the poets of Zimbabwe.
