Apple took a gamble on Debbie Coleman, an English Literature major with an MBA from Stanford and hired her as the Chief Financial Officer at Apple, a position she held from 1986 to 1988. I was in Grade 6 in 1988.

Coleman went on to become CEO of Merix Corporation, a manufacturer of printed circuit boards, in March 1994 and became involved with several other tech ventures after that.
