Last year, I took part in the 30 Poems in November fundraiser run by the Center for New Americans. I’m doing it again – as Iz Mazano this time (Ya, I think we can safely say the zero-pollination experiment has ended 🙂 ).
The way the fundraiser works is that poets sign up and commit to writing a poem a day for 30 days. Then they ask friends, family and other well-wishers to support them by donating money for each poem written or a single amount for the full 30 day campaign – much like a sponsored walk or run.
I am committing to writing 30 poems around the theme of hope and courage, inspired by the resilience I have seen during this really tough year. More about this on the Iz Mazano website.
If you want to go directly to the campaign page and support this initiative, here’s the link. Thank you.
Below is the first poem, released early to get the fundraising momentum going. If you prefer to read, here is the written version.

I believe that every serious artist should be able to make a living from their work if they want to and I’m on a mission to find the best tools, ideas, and resources to help artists succeed. I experiment with business models, monetization ideas, and new technology in my own creative process as part of this journey of discovering.
